St Albans Chamber Opera         2019

St Albans Chamber Opera (SACO for short)

SACO was founded in 1987 by opera singer Phyl (Aver) Swindlehurst and Music Director David Ireson to provide performing opportunities for the many talented singers living in the area, and to involve young people in performing and attending opera.  The company has a good reputation for providing first class music theatre on a small budget and is virtually self-supporting.

An annual production at the Abbey Theatre in the spring is supplemented with studio performances, concerts and workshops in a variety of unusual and attractive venues.

Welcome to the 32nd Season of St Albans Chamber Opera which started in October 2018 with sell out performances of An Evening with Gilbert and Sullivan, and there will be another opportunity to see the production on 17th May this year in the Abbey Theatre Studio.  As well as our main production in March, Ruddigore, we have our increasingly popular Tea Concerts, the next one is on Sunday 17th February in St Stephens Church Hall, St Albans (AL1 2PT) at 2:30 PM featuring the Jeremy Goggins Wind Ensemble, tickets available on the door at £10 - including tea and cakes!  We look forward to seeing you at one, or all, of our events.
